So Much to Do!

The Wedding Website of Maureen Higgins and Jesse Rabbitt
You don't always get a chance to say you have lived on an island! We hope you enjoy being surrounded by the beautiful Chesapeake Bay and the multiple estuaries that flow into it as well as everything Kent Island, our home, has to offer. There is SO much to do here! This is a list of just a few of our favorite things that we hope the people we love and cherish can enjoy while they are here!
Ferry Point Park

Ferry Point Park

425 Piney Narrows Road, Chester, MD 21619

This is probably our first choice when we want to get out and go for a walk while taking advantage of living by the water! It is a beautiful, easy walk with views of the Chester River, Kent Narrows, and Piney Creek. It is accessible from Chesapeake Heritage and Visitors Center and offers benches and a beach (that Ronan loves to play on).

Terrapin Nature Park

Terrapin Nature Park

191 Log Canoe Circle, Stevensville, MD 21666

This is where we took our engagement pictures! It is an award-winning 276-acre nature park featuring a 3.25-mile oyster chaff walking trail, which meanders through wildflower meadows, wetlands, tidal ponds, woodlands, and sandy shoreline. The trail provides a unique vantage point for viewing an incredible variety of waterfowl, wildlife, and plant species. Enjoy the gorgeous views of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge while putting your toes in the sand on the beach.

Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center

Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center

600 Discovery Lane, Grasonville, MD 21638

Explore the natural history of the Eastern Shore and local conservation efforts while hiking scenic trails, birdwatching, and even go kayaking with views of Marshy Creek, Hog Bay, and Prospect Bay. This is another one of our favorite places to go for a scenic walk!

Cross Island Trail

Cross Island Trail, Kent Narrows, MD

Looking to go for a walk? This 6.5 mile long trail spans from east to west from Terrapin Nature Park to the Chesapeake Heritage and Visitor Center. It has beautiful water views along the way. (Ask us about our accidental 9.5 mile walk on the Cross Island Trail!)

Ten Eyck Brewing Company

Ten Eyck Brewing Company

205 Grange Hall Road, Queenstown, MD 21658

This is our favorite local brewery, where we have met up with numerous friends and family for fantastic craft beers! Just a quick trip down RT. 50! Ask for the owner Nicki and tell her Maureen and Jesse sent you! ;)

Love Point Vineyards and Winery

Love Point Vineyards and Winery

305 River Shore Lane, Stevensville, MD 21666

We love visiting this gorgeous winery with impeccable views of the Chester River. They have a sun-filled tasting room, outdoor deck and patio, as well as ample seating and picnic space available on the lawn.
