Maid of Honor
Stephanie is a one-of-a-kind friend and has stepped up to be a one in 7 billion maid of honor. I met Stephanie in our junior year of college and have grown to be inseparable best friends through our college experience and weirdly similar idiosyncrasies. She is my rock, my cheerleader, and coach all at once. As the maid of honor, she's working extremely hard and has been invaluable to getting this shindig off the ground. I'm beyond happy and blessed to have her beside me for this and forever!
Best Man
Jacob is an aspiring writer and producer, whom I met in our junior year of high school in Winston-Salem, NC. We both took Digital Media, and were the only two filmmakers in the class, so naturally we stuck together. We got accepted to the same college, the University of North Carolina School of the Arts (Go Fighting Pickles!), where we roomed together for a few years. We then moved out to LA together, and have been roommates and best buds ever since.
Bridesmaid
Megan is my longest standing friend of 16 years. Our friendship began in first grade by being unhappily paired together to complete a math assignment. Little did either of us know that that small unpleasantry would result in the gaining of a sister, confidant, and growing up buddy. No amount of miles has stalled us, and I'm thankful to have a bond that took us from 2+2 to helping Jesse and I become bride and groom!
Groomsman
I met Eduardo while studying at Cal State Northridge, where we were both working on our master's degrees in screenwriting. With each of us appreciating dark humor, we got along very quickly. It often times felt as if we would be in small competitions to see who could make the more cynical joke. Not only is he hilarious, but Eduardo is also one of the most generous people you'll ever meet.
Bridesmaid
Megan became my friend when I first began college and has been my wind ensemble horn buddy all throughout. Always lending an ear and the appropriate amount of "oh my gosh" 's, Megan has seen me through the rough years of dating and into my relationship with Jesse. She was the first friend who witnessed our story falling into place and remained an amazing friend through it all.
Groomsman
Like Eduardo, Paul and I met while studying for our MFA's in screenwriting. Paul is one of the most genuinely kind people I know and always goes out of his way to ensure others are having a good time. He nearly sweat himself to death working all of the camera equipment and lights for a short film I was making, that happened to be in a no-AC attic. For that, I will be forever thankful. He also plays Magic: The Gathering, and our after class discussions about the game were always welcome.
Bridesmaid
Taffy and I met in college with her being my older, wiser, and “more-adult” guide to getting around school. She saw me when I was an absolute mess of an adult and loved me anyway. We’ve since bonded over many a baking party, game night, and our mutual love of Disneyland and French horns. She has since become good friends to both Jesse and myself and never fails to be a loyal, trustworthy, and brutally honest. She always says what’s on her mind, which made it all the more special when she agreed to stand next to me for this.
Groomswoman
Christine is yet another great friend I met while studying screenwriting at CSUN. She's a terrific teacher and a great cinema conversationalist. We've spent hours discussing (both in agreement and disagreement) the newest films and what makes them work. She even helped take care of me when I had my third shoulder surgery, with basically no notice. She also shares my love of thrill rides and escape rooms, which we both agree that we need to do more often.
Bridesmaid
Miranda is my big sister (despite being several inches shorter than me.) Since birth, she's always been there to take me to my first sleepover and save me from whatever kid decided to pick on me that day. Now as grown-ups, she's shaped my moral compass in ways I could have never imagined before and has held a huge place in shaping the person I am and will be. Jesse is gaining an older sister-in-law and couldn't be more excited. I'm so grateful to have her with me, as close as ever, as we take this step in marriage.
Groomsman
Todd works as a character designer on the Nickelodeon show "Loud House." He spends nearly every dollar he earns on Magic: The Gathering cards. I know this because that is how Todd and I met. We like to travel to conventions together and play our favorite card game. We even occasionally win!
