Justin grew up going to Camp Siloam, a church camp in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, with Calvary Baptist Church. Maura and her sister, Madison, heard about the camp through family friends and decided to join the church one summer, spending a week at Camp Siloam with them. Maura attended Camp Siloam the summer before this upcoming one, and it was there that she gave her life to Christ. That’s what makes this story even more amazing—because Maura ended up meeting her future husband at that very same place and eventually got engaged to the man of her dreams there. In the summer of 2016, Justin and Maura had just finished their 7th-grade school year and were heading into 8th grade. So what can we say... they were each other’s church camp crushes at the ripe age of 13. Justin thought Maura was a very pretty and quiet girl. Maura thought Justin was a cutie, but he was so shy and quiet at the time that he was too nervous to talk to her. The week flashed by in the blink of an eye, and they spent each day worshiping and praising God with Calvary Baptist Church. When the week came to a close, they went back to their normal lives. August rolled around, and they both started 8th grade—Maura at Valley Springs and Justin at Huntsville. The next summer, Madison and Maura wanted to return to Camp Siloam, so they went again with their friends from Calvary Baptist Church. It was another great week. Justin and Maura were still church camp crushes, and Justin’s mom, Brandy, was one of the counselors. They made some of their best memories at Camp Siloam—a place they’ll always look back on and smile. Maura and Justin went through high school, and during that time, Justin messaged Maura a few times on Instagram. Nothing too serious, but he was sweet and started a few conversations. Meanwhile, they both lived their lives—playing sports, spending time with family and friends, and dating other people. In 2021, Maura graduated from Valley Springs High School and Justin from Huntsville High School. Justin went straight to work, and Maura chased her dreams of becoming a college softball player. In the summer of 2022, on July 22, Justin messaged Maura again, hoping to rekindle the flame. Maura politely ghosted him—not meaning anything by it—but Justin was devastated, heartbroken to say the least. Still, he didn’t give up. The next summer, on May 16, 2023, Justin messaged Maura again. This time, she didn’t ghost him! She agreed to go on a date, and Justin took her to Jamie’s Restaurant in Harrison, Arkansas. The date was perfect, and they went on another one the very next day. The flame had been rekindled. Justin officially asked Maura to be his girlfriend on July 21, 2023. Since then, they’ve been doing long distance—Maura as a D1 softball player at The University of Tulsa, and Justin working as a lineman for Ozark Electric Cooperative. Justin bought the engagement ring in February 2025. He talked to Maura’s dad, Randy, on April 23, 2025. And on June 8, 2025, Justin proposed to Maura through a meaningful scavenger hunt, taking her to several special places. It ended where their story first began—at Camp Siloam in 2016. Through tears, Maura said yes to the man of her dreams at the place where it all started. Here's to forever...
