We have room blocks at three different hotels that are close to our wedding venue at District Winery. If you are opting to find your own hotel outside the city, that’s great! Areas to stay would be: Arlington, Ballston, or the Falls Church/Falls Church City area. All of these places have great access to restaurants, bars and shops, and are about a 30-35 minute ride to the venue. If you are opting for an Air BnB, we recommend the above areas as well!
No. Since our friends and family are traveling from so many different places, everyone is choosing to stay in the area that works best for them. We can’t wait to see everyone at the venue for the ceremony!
The winery itself has a great restaurant and bar which will be open prior to the wedding. There are coffee shops, restaurants and bars all within walking distance of each of the hotels. Other options within walking distance of the venue: Bluejacket (food and drinks) Due South (southern comfort food and drinks) Shilling Canning Company (awesome) Osteria Morini And a few bars/restaurants literally across the turf lawn from the venue!
If you’re staying in DC or Arlington, you would want to try and fly into National/Reagan. It’s much closer travel wise. If you’re coming internationally, or are staying in Northern VA, flying into Dulles is going to be more practical.
Yes! The hotels all have parking (ask about this when booking your room). The venue also has a pay lot right next to it, but it can get pretty full on a beautiful summer day. You can leave your car there overnight. Street parking is elusive, and usually only has a max of 2-4 hours. DC meter maids are notoriously on top of the time limits!
If you are driving down, definitely check with your hotel about parking rates and discounts for multiple days/nights. If you’re planning on doing some sightseeing around the city, we recommend getting an Uber to one location, and walking or getting the metro from there. There are metro stations you can hop on and off close to so many tourist attractions. The city also has bike share and scooter share options.
Black tie optional. The groom and groomsmen will be in tuxedos, the bridesmaids in full floor length dresses. Cocktail attire is also perfectly fine! Just come feeling your best and ready to party! DC gets hot (and a bit muggy) in late June, so remember your sunglasses and stay hydrated! Our ceremony will be outside and the rest of the events will take place inside (with A/C).
