In 2016, neither Maura nor Michael were looking for a plus one. Michael’s mother, who worked with Maura at a daycare that summer, had advised Maura many times that she had a son who would be attending the same university (Indiana State) that Maura would be attending in the fall. Michael's mother offered his help navigating the campus and to be a positive resource for her. Maura politely declined the introduction as she was not looking to be set up with her coworker's son. During the fall semester, there were a few chance encounters, both oblivious to whom the other was. Over Christmas break, Maura was back helping in the daycare when Michael had come to visit his mother. While there, he was formally introduced to Maura…and well…dates were to follow. Fast forward 5 1/2 years and Michael surprised Maura on her dream trip to Salem, MA where he proposed in front of the harbor lighthouse, with many boats sounding their horns in celebration. Though they weren’t looking, God had a plan, putting them together and on a path toward marriage. They are feeling blessed and thankful to share their special day with all of you as they become Mr. and Mrs. Lovett!
