We met in 2005. Angie was 9 and Matvey was 11. Matvey and his family had just migrated from Russia, and their dads love for ping pong brought the families together. Even with Angie's horrible memory, she remembers that day. Fast forward, they grew up and became friends at the Slavic Baptist Church. Later, they joined the same young adults faith group, known as Lifegroup for 5 years. They became good friends but neither of them saw the other as more than a friend. Then life split them apart for few years. They didn't cross paths often during that season, mostly on social media when Matvey teased Angie about her "Single-Don't-Want-to-Mingle" stage of life. Of course, he had no idea he was talking to his future wife, not realizing God was saving her for him. Fast forward to August 2021, God reconnects Angie with Matvey and his group of friends again through her friend Amber. Angie & Amber become a part of their friend group and begin to do life together. Angie and Amber spoke highly of their church and everything God was doing in their lives. They invited the friend group to join them for a service. On April 17, Matvey and his friends showed up to check out The House Church. Matvey was wrecked by God that day, and right away in his Spirit, He knew he had to be there. He switched churches immediately and started a whole new season with the Lord. Angie and Matvey began texting and talking to share everything God was doing. They both began growing like crazy and the connection they had was unlike any other. At one point, Angie felt prompted to share a testimony with Matvey. It was too long to text out, so she recorded a 10 minute voice message. Before sending the message, she thought "Uh oh. I hope he doesn't get the wrong idea. We are just friends." Matvey gets a 10 minute voice message and says "Uh oh. I hope she doesn't get the wrong idea. We are just friends." Then he sends her one back. They grew closer as friends, with daily convos about God & their faith journeys. On May 7th, the Lord tells Matvey that Angie will be his future wifey. He told God "If this is you please confirm it and bring my emotions and attraction along. I don't want to play with her heart. I need to know this is you." That month, Matvey got many visions, words, and confirmations. On June 16th, Matvey decided he was going to ask her out by the end of the day. Faithful to his word, he texted her at 11:59PM. Angie replies on June 17th, and tells him that he is amazing, but strongly believes they aren't for eachother, but she's sad because his future wife will be in the best hands. Matvey was tempted to pull back to give her space, but God tells him "Just be her friend, I will bring her alongside you." After that, Angie felt prompted to talk to him even more. Matvey was a bit confused, took it as pity, but he rolled with it. They became best friends. On August 17th 2022, God flipped it all around and spoke to Angie too, but God told her to keep quiet for a while. Their friendship continued to grow, as she fell in love. Matvey didn't know anything changed for her. October 1, 2022, the Lord told Angie she could begin to share glimpses of her heart with him. They began to share the things God has been telling them and confirmed they were hearing the same things and began falling more and more in love. Then God said they will enter into a new season of not talking until the time was right. They began a no-talking fast. They didn't know how long God would keep them in this season, but they were committed to each other and to wait. The fast lasted 40 days but felt like 40 years. God did so much during the 40 days. On November 17th, the Lord brought them both to Miami (separately) and said it was time to move forward. They had their first date on November 23rd. After 17 days of dating, Matvey proposed on December 9th, 2022. And now, exactly a year later from when Angie told Matvey "absolutely not", she will being saying "Forever, I do".
