Everyone will be staying in Taormina as it is the closest tourist destination (shopping, restaurants, ruins, etc. within walking distance).

How far is the church in proximity to Taormina?

Answer

The church is in the small village of Massa San Giovanni, which is about 45 to 60 minutes from Taormina. We will be providing transportation for the full wedding day from Taormina to the church, reception, and then back to Taormina. We suggest eating a meal before boarding the buses as the next opportunity for food will be at the reception beginning at 6:30 pm. We will provide water and mini snacks for the bus ride to hold you over. Please see the schedule for times and pick up locations.

Can I book accommodations closer to the wedding and reception?

Answer

Yes, but we are recommending everyone stay in Taormina. Please note, the city of Messina is not a tourist destination, therefore has limited shopping, restaurants, and nightlife. Also, English is not commonly spoken there.

The currency used in Italy is Euro Dollars. Keep in mind that the currency exchange rate changes daily. The current rate is 1.23 but is subject to change.
