FAQs

The Wedding Website of Mariana De Obaldia and Matthew Noyes
We know many of you may have questions about traveling to Boquete, so we’ve put together helpful details below to make your trip to Panama as smooth and enjoyable as possible.
Question

How do I get to Boquete?

Answer

You can reach Boquete by flying from Panama City to Enrique Malek International Airport (DAV) in David and then driving about an hour into town. Renting a car is optional — we’ll coordinate transportation from David for guests who prefer not to drive. You can also drive directly from Panama City to Boquete, which takes about six hours on well‑maintained highways.

Question

What’s the best way to get around once I’m in Boquete?

Answer

Boquete is compact and easy to navigate. If you’re not renting a car, taxis and arranged transportation are reliable for getting around.

Question

Where should I stay, and should I book early?

Answer

We’re in the process of securing room blocks at select hotels within a 5–10 minute drive of the Panamonte. Because Boquete has limited hotel availability, we recommend booking early. Airbnbs are also a great option — just choose a place close to town.

Question

Will transportation be provided for wedding events?

Answer

Yes — we’ll provide transportation for all wedding‑related events.

Question

What is there to do in Boquete during free time?

Answer

Boquete is known for its outdoor activities — coffee farm tours, hot springs, hiking, hanging bridges, and scenic drives. There are also great restaurants, cafés, and local markets to explore. We will arrange a schedule of proposed activities for those of you who choose to arrive early.

Question

What is the dress code for the wedding events?

Answer

Dress codes for each event will be listed on the Schedule page. Overall, think elevated, festive, and comfortable for the mountain setting.

Question

What should I pack for Boquete’s climate, and what’s the weather like that time of year?

Answer

Expect daytime temperatures in the 70s–80s°F and cooler evenings in the 60s°F, with occasional light mist. Pack breathable clothing, a light jacket or sweater, comfortable shoes, and a rain layer.

Question

Are kids invited to the wedding events?

Answer

Our wedding events will be adults‑only unless otherwise noted. If you’re traveling from outside the country, we’re genuinely happy to welcome your little ones — we know it’s a big trip, and we want your family to feel comfortable joining us.

Question

What should I know about money, safety, and staying connected in Panama?

Answer

Panama uses the U.S. dollar. Most places accept credit cards, but carrying some cash is helpful. A 10% tip is customary when service isn’t included. Boquete is very safe and welcoming, and Wi‑Fi and cell service are generally reliable. Depending on your carrier, you may want to add a short‑term international plan.

Question

What are Mari and Matt’s travel plans before and after the wedding?

Answer

We’ll likely arrive in Boquete a bit early and put together a small schedule of optional activities for anyone who wants to join us. After the wedding, we plan to spend a few days in Panama City and would love for guests to explore the city with us; including a canal visit, where Mari will happily give a little tour.
