Where Sun Valley began -- the Sun Valley Lodge. Guest rooms here are on the pricier side, but if you're looking for a taste of luxury, this is it. The lodge is located in the heart of Sun Valley village, a short shuttle, bike ride or walk into Ketchum. Complimentary around-town and airport shuttles. Even if you don't stay at the lodge, it is worth visiting.

- 12 miles and 25 minutes south of Sun Valley/Ketchum and is the closest and most convenient airport - From the airport, car rentals are recommended. Cab and Car service is available but limited. Most hotels provide complimentary shuttles - Non-stop flights to SUN are: United - San Francisco (SFO), Los Angeles (LAX), Denver (DEN), Chicago - O'Hare (ORD) Delta - Los Angeles (LAX), Salt Lake City (SLC) Alaska - Seattle-Tacoma (SEA) Connections to Boston, New York (JFK and LGA), Houston can be made at DEN, ORD, and SLC

Do I need to rent a car?

If you're staying in Sun Valley, Elkhorn, or Ketchum, it is not necessary to rent a car. Ketchum is very walkable and there is a good (and free!) bus system. Most of the hotels offer a complimentary shuttle or car service to/from the airport and locations around town. If you're planning to do any activities out of town, you will need a car. Hertz, Enterprise, Avis, National, and Budget all rent cars out of Friedman Airport (SUN).
