Matt and Anna's Meet Cute

It was summer 2015 when we interacted for the first time from opposite sides of the counter at JoMama's NY Bagels & Coffeehouse. I (Anna) was working the register when I began to recognize Matt as a regular customer. He came into the shop almost daily. I provided the bagels, and he provided ...almost nothing in return (he was not yet caffeinated and wasn't up for chit-chat). By the end of the summer I knew his order - a plain bagel with garlic and herb cream cheese, and a large black coffee (usually iced). If you've worked a customer service job on Cape Cod in the summer, you know that lines of customers can quickly flow out of the door, into the parking lot, and around the building. I could usually spot Matt's car in the parking (the thing was like five different colors, so it was pretty hard to miss), and I got into the habit of punching his order into the register long before he made it in the door. A quick transaction for me, and a carb and coffee fix for Matt. This was our system for the duration of the busy season, after which we found ourselves with more time for small talk and the chance to actually get to know one another. I complimented Matt on his taste in music, he sent me a playlist or two, and before we knew it, we were making plans to hang out for the first time. This quickly evolved into spending nearly every day together, which we've done ever since!

Our Wedding Day

We got married in a quick, intimate ceremony surrounded by our immediate families. The ceremony took place inside the farmhouse at Smith Farm Gardens in East Haddam, Connecticut. We exchanged rings in front of the fireplace with our families seated around us. Afterward, we sipped cocktails, enjoyed some charcuterie (shoutout to Christine!) and soaked up every ounce of coziness while spending time with our parents and siblings. The only thing that would have made our day more perfect would be the ability to share it with every one of our family and friends. Since getting engaged, we have felt so much love and support from those in our lives. As we move into the next chapter of life and love, we hope to share in other milestones and create so many more memories with our loved ones. If you received our wedding announcement, please know that you were in our hearts on our wedding day and we are immensely grateful for the role you have played in our lives.
