On December 23, 2022, Matt proposed to the love of his life. Matt simply executed the most perfect proposal by last minute arranging a spontaneous trip to Candy Cane Lane followed by dinner reservations at the Whaling Station. Matt easily made reservations for 6pm and even sought out how to play Matt and Kat's song, "Head Over Boots" by Jon Pardi over the over-head radio. After ordering a filet and lobster tail, Matt was getting figidity and continued to express his love for Kat. She asked for him to get back into his seat as she noticed him approaching her side of the table and got bonked on the forehead by his cowboy hat. He got down on one knee and popped the question. Without any hesitation she immediately gave hugs and questioned if this was a fairytale or real life. Of course she said yes and the restaurant kindly clapped and supported the young, loving couple. Shock and tears of joy consumed Kat as the next chapter of his and her life will be a life changer. Did we mention the other surprise, one day following the proposal? Annie Jane, the newest fur-member, is getting along so well with her new siblings and learning the playground rules of jaw wrestling with her big siblings, Samson and Nina. Where did this all start you ask? Let's take a trip back to 2011 where Matt and Kat met for the first time. They attempted to date in late 2012 going on adventures and showing up to the San Francisco Giants game in the 6th inning because Kat has never tail-gated before at a game. The friendship was strong but both parted their ways for several years. Traveling down paths individually, Matt and Kat rekindled their friendship early 2022, about 11 years later. After a few months of catching up, Matt and Kat have been inseparable ever since. May 13th, 2022 they became official boyfriend and girlfriend and started going on their fun adventures again. Local trips to the boardwalk, the lakes, and introducing Matt to Hot August Nights in Reno, just to name a few. The laughter between these two is never ending as you might already know if you have met the silly couple. Pranks, made-up words, and story-telling might be something you catch a glimpse of in the near future. They have made up for lost time as they know they want to spend every second of their lives together.
