Well, not quite. Rewind to 2009 when Matt was a "weekend student" at UMass. Melanie and Matt had many mutual friends and were often at the same dorm pregame parties. Even though Matt had a crush on Mel, Matt never thought much more into it. In 2021, Matt was in Myrtle Beach celebrating one of his best friend's 30th birthday. Also there was one of Melanie's best friends, who planted the seed that Matt should reach out to Melanie. After a long beach day and many, many, MANY drinks later, Matt finally sent Mel a message...and they haven't stopped talking since. Despite living 240 miles and over 4 hours away from each other, Matt and Mel knew their relationship could go the distance.
