The sun was setting over the Seven Seas Lagoon, casting a golden glow across the beach at Disney's Polynesian Resort. Jennifer walked barefoot along the soft sand, her hand intertwined with Matt’s. The air was warm, and the sound of gentle waves lapping against the shore was accompanied by distant laughter from the nearby resort. It was their last evening at Walt Disney World, and Matt had told her he wanted to make it special. “Isn’t this beautiful?” Jennifer sighed, gazing out at the horizon where the iconic Cinderella Castle could be seen in the distance. Matt smiled but said nothing, his heart racing. He’d spent months planning this moment, and now it was finally here. As they strolled further down the beach, they came upon a small, secluded area lit by flickering tiki torches. In the center was a blanket spread out on the sand, with a picnic basket, a bottle of sparkling cider, and a plate of chocolate-covered strawberries. “Matt, what is this?” Jennifer asked, her eyes lighting up with curiosity. “I just thought we could enjoy one last moment here together before heading home,” he replied casually, though his voice betrayed a hint of nervousness. Jennifer giggled and sat down on the blanket, marveling at how perfect the evening felt. As they sipped the cider and talked about their favorite memories from the trip, the familiar strains of “A Whole New World” began to play softly in the background. Jennifer glanced around, trying to find the source of the music, but Matt gently took her hand, bringing her focus back to him. “Jennifer,” he began, his voice trembling slightly. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small box. Her breath caught as she realized what was happening. “I knew from the moment I met you that you were the person I wanted to spend forever with. Every day with you feels like magic, and I can’t imagine my life without you in it. You’re my best friend, my partner, my everything. So…” Matt knelt down on one knee, opening the box to reveal a sparkling engagement ring that caught the last rays of the setting sun. “Jennifer, will you marry me?” Tears welled up in Jennifer’s eyes as she nodded, unable to speak. “Yes! Of course, yes!” she finally managed, throwing her arms around him as he slipped the ring onto her finger. At that moment, the sound of fireworks filled the air as the nightly show over Magic Kingdom began. Jennifer laughed through her tears, marveling at how perfectly timed it all was. “I can’t believe you planned this,” she said, wiping her eyes. “Well,” Matt admitted with a grin, “I had a little help from Mickey.” As the fireworks lit up the sky, Matt and Jennifer sat together on the beach, dreaming about their future and the magical life they would build together. It was a proposal straight out of a fairytale, and they couldn’t wait to live happily ever after.
