How We Met

09.20.16

The start of any new chapter in your life can seem crazy, exciting and scary all at the same time. Going to Texas A&M as a freshman was scary enough but even more scary was trying to get involved, join organizations and balance schoolwork. Freshman year, Mattie and Tyler, entered Texas A&M as first-generation Aggies and immediately fell in love with the school and it's many traditions. But their story started one night in the press box of Kyle Field. 48 freshmen were accepted into a freshman leadership organization called ASSIST which was an organization based on service. The reveal night for being accepted and the chance to meet all the freshmen and mentors that would be in their lives for at least the next year happened in the Kyle Field Press Box. Over the next semester, Tyler and Mattie grew closer as friends until they realized how much they enjoyed being around the other person. So, the second semester of freshman year started and Mattie and Tyler started dating (something they both said they didn't plan on happening). Mattie went on to become a mentor and eventual director for ASSIST, the organization that brought them together. And over the next three and a half years, Mattie and Tyler pushed each other to be their best selves by encouraging each other to apply for men's and women's organizations, jobs, and to succeed in classes.

The Proposal

08.23.19

The Aggie core values are a core tenant of Texas A&M which consist of Respect, Leadership, Loyalty, Integrity, Excellence, and Selfless Service. But more importantly these have become the core values of Mattie and Tyler individually and in their relationship. Tyler took Mattie through different memories and spots on campus (a redass 12 spots of course) before proposing to Mattie before their senior year where it all began in the press box. As they embark on this next chapter, they hope to continue to build each other up and uphold the Aggie core values.

They Snell Be One

05.16.20

Mattie and Tyler are excited for their wedding day and to share it with their closest friends and family. They can't wait to embark on this adventure and hope to continue to love each other and push each other to follow the Aggie core values while having a lifetime of happiness. See you in CStat! Whoop!
