We had just got done sitting in the 2+ hour opening day line at Chick-fil-A in Spokane. While waiting in Jake's Silverado, conversation flowed and time flew with ease. We were content in each others' presence simply waiting for a chicken sandwich. During an episode of The Walking Dead later that night, Jake mentioned, "There's been something I've been meaning to tell you." He then finally mustered the courage and said "I love you" for the first time. To his dismay, Mattie laughed and responded, "How'd I know you were going to say that?" As his confidence waned, she prompty followed with, "But I love you, too."
