Arlanda Express Bus Taxi Arlanda Express is the easiest and most convenient. While it is a little pricey, it always seems to be our go to. Give the bus a try if you want to save some money.
We have several hotel recommendations, all within walking distance to our reception. A bus will pick you up from The Grand Hotel and take you to the wedding ceremony. When the Ceremony is over, a bus will bring you back to the Grand Hotel. Stockholm is a very walkable city with excellent public transportation. We recommend to stay in the city Centre or anywhere near the Grand Hotel.
We do not think it is necessary to rent a car for our wedding. If you want to explore Sweden, public transportation is recommended. We do not have experience with Car Rental or areas to park within the city walls, so it is entirely up to you and your needs.
The flight to Sweden is an overnight flight i.e. you will leave around 5pm EST and land in Sweden at about 7-10am local time depending on your flight. That being said, you should probably arrive in Sweden no later than Thursday morning. If you are involved in the wedding, no later than Wednesday morning. We want to keep the party going so keep in mind you may be jetlagged. The sooner you get there the less jet lagged you will be!
We love your Children. While children are not invited to the Reception, they are more than welcome at our Church Ceremony to Celebrate our Marriage. We are working on recommendations for babysitters/nannys for the evening. More to come.
If you have blonde hair and blue eyes, do not be surprised if someone starts speaking Swedish to you. That being said, Sweden is fantastic when it comes to speaking and understanding English. You should have no troubles asking anyone for help in English, especially around the airports, public transport and restaurants.
No- you do not need to tip. Gratuity is included already in the price. In todays world, the option to tip automatically comes up on the Point of Sale Machine. Select No Tip and do not feel bad. Tip is not expected + you already tipped as it is included in your meal/ bar tab etc.
Sweden uses the Swedish Kronor as their currency. Plastic (credit cards) are widely used and the preferred method of payment. Most places have stopped accepting cash. If you have a VISA, you should be fine- point being, you shouldn't need cash during your time in Sweden
So walkable and so much you can see by walking to destinations within range. Bring your walking shoes! A tip we recommend: wearing shoes you can walk comfortable distances in and then a bag to carry your *fancy* shoes that you can change into upon arrivals.
In June, Stockholm, Sweden typically enjoys mild to warm weather, making it one of the best times to visit. Here’s what you can expect: Temperature: Average High: Around 20–22°C (68–72°F). Average Low: Around 11–13°C (52–55°F). Daylight: June is the peak of the "Midnight Sun" season, with extremely long days. Stockholm sees up to 18–19 hours of daylight, making it perfect for outdoor activities. Rainfall: Moderate rainfall is possible, with occasional showers. It’s advisable to carry a light rain jacket or umbrella. WHEN IN DOUBT, BRING A RAIN JACKET. Just because the sun is out doesnt mean it can't rain. Similarly, just because its raining doesnt mean it the sun wont be out in 20 minutes. General Climate: The weather is typically pleasant, with a mix of sunny and partly cloudy days. It’s warm enough for light clothing during the day, but evenings can be cooler, so layers are recommended.
