We met on a Sunday night at our very first youth event back after COVID. Trina had been invited by friends and decided to go, never expecting that night would lead her to meet Matthias Ibanez. From the beginning, we just enjoyed being together. We naturally started spending more and more time together, fishing, swimming, going to the movies, and most importantly, going to church and growing in our faith side by side. Even then, we believe God was already writing our story. On December 5, 2020, after knowing each other for just four months and still being only friends, Matthias flew Trina to Florida to celebrate her birthday. During that weekend, Matthias asked Trina to be his girlfriend, and from that day on, we’ve been inseparable. Five years later, on August 11, 2025, Matthias got down on one knee in Oahu, Hawaii and asked Trina to be his forever. And here we are, five years together and counting, so excited for the life God has planned ahead of us.
