Elizabeth Matthews

Matron of Honor

I'm Elizabeth (aka "Libby"), Alex's lil sis, and I'm so honored to be Alex's matron of honor. We all know that ~DA~ loves a good time and always maximizes the moment. I can't wait to get sweaty on the dance floor in honor of DA's amor. Alex has been giddy for David since day one. Early in their relationship, I remember sneaking out of my office to get juicy updates, discuss outfit options, craft proper text message wording, and vote on surprise gifts for David. Now, she pretty much has all these things dialed, and I have witnessed their excitement for each other with my own eyes. Their passion for each other sizzles (especially on the dance floor) and I couldn't be happier for both of them. Wishing Alex and David a union full of growing love, spontaneity, and live music! Love, Lib

Aikeem Sutphin

Man of Honor

Okay ladies and gentlemen, it is story time of the David and Dante Saga. I was able to meet David back in his VWC (better known as VDUBB) days. David and I had plenty of mutual friends and it was our destiny to cross paths. I must admit when I first met David, I was like this dude is a “TOOL”. I asked myself who goes by their full name all the time. For example, Hi I am David Kidd. I later had the pleasure of hanging with David at several VWC parties and I immediately saw something in him. This was something that you could not purchase in person. This quality was “Loyalty”. From the day I said David Kidd was my friend I could honestly say I knew this guy had my back. David is like a brother to me from another mother. His family has always treated me just like he does, and David has always been welcomed in my family’s home as well. Other than the loyalty if I want brutal honesty, I know David will be there to provide. He holds back no punches and tries to keep it real. He will also hold you accountable and that’s why he always has my respect and love. The only thing that bothers me about David is his disrespect to my fishing abilities. He will always try to remind me that he is taking me fishing and he is the “Bill Dance” of our relationship but in the same breath ask for fishing tackle. He never has appropriate tackle. It literally blows my mind, but I still call him to fish because he makes the adventure exciting. David Kidd is truly one of a kind.

Aysha Nitze

Bridesmaid

I met Alex when I was 14 years old and I was working in a bikini shop named Maui Girl. She walked in with her long legs and big Michigan accent and needless to say I was like, “Who is this girl and how can I get her to be my best friend?!?!” Lucky me -- we ended up in the same high school and the feeling was mutual!!! Ever since the 1st day of school we were inseparable, literally, I don't think I spent one night in my own bed and her pink bedroom was now our pink bedroom. Those school days are long behind us but my love for Alex is not! I am truly sorry for people who don't have an Alex in their life. I am so happy for her and David and can't wait for this new journey!

Groomsman

The best day fishing I have ever had and my lil bro was right next to me. Fish On! David is a great man and Alex is the best thing to happen to him. I wish you two a long and happy life. Congrats on hooking up the "Deadliest Catch".

Jennifer Johnson

Bridesmaid

Jenni Newman reporting live. I met Alex as teenagers after she had moved from Michigan to Maui. We did not attend the same schools, however, we did go to all of the same parties. From shot-gunning cheap beers on weekend camp trips to braiding her hair on endless summer beach days, life with Alex has always been an adventure. I look forward to continuing the adventures with David by her side.

Brandon Hicks

Groomsman

David and I met originally in middle school band, but our friendship really progressed while we were in high school, and ultimately he became my brother from another during college. Throughout the years we have built a strong bond through many, many good times and rough times as well. David is one person that i always know will be there if needed, and will always have my back (unless I’m wrong which he will correct as well, accountability lol). I’m excited to share this next chapter of David’s life, and am also excited to get to share it with his future wife as well! Love you both and wishing a lifetime of happiness!

Brielle Birkholm

Bridesmaid

Brielle AKA Elle reporting live for bridesmaid duty! I have known and loved Alex since middle school. We have shared so many priceless belly aching moments with her growing up in Maui. From dancing the night away to old school rap, to freezing our buns off on the slopes of Haleakala crater, to getting lost in endless lava fields and somehow making our way home (barely). All we ever needed was each other, a freshly burned CD, and a tank of gas in the good ol' Durango. Our missions were never planned, and our memories never forgotten. In our adult years, we have spent miles apart and years apart, but our bond stays solid and true. Our friendship I cherish with all my heart. I am so happy to welcome David into our beautiful, wild, and crazy family. He fits in just perfectly! I cannot wait to celebrate your love for one another and dance the night away in your new home of Virginia Beach. XX, Honored Bridesmaid

David and I met in high school. Although we went to separate schools, we both participated in NJROTC, and hung out in the same friend groups, so our paths would always cross. Throughout school we'd compete with one another, and since we both ran track, we'd make it a point to race each other just to see who could win. At the end of the day though, we both ran for the same NJROTC athletic team, so racing usually didnt extend any further than it being our own made-up competition, but it was still fun to prove a point (cough cough, I always won). Over the years David has become one of my closest friends, and he has been there for me through a lot of my big life events both personally and professionally. Whether it was running, skydiving, dancing, drinking, or playing bar golf, I can always depend on him to be right there with me making any experience that much better. It has been great to see him as happy as he is when he's with Alex, and I know that he's even happier in knowing that he is going to spend the rest of his life with her. Cheers to David and Alex!!

Natasha Boone

Bridesmaid

I am Natasha Boone. It was love at first sight when Alex and I met. We first locked eyes on the dance floor and promised to never forget each others name. We laughed and danced the night away. 20 years later, we've kept up the good vibes from Maui, California, Oahu, Detroit, and now Virginia. She's always been laser focused on her goals and whatever her heat desires -- all while making sure the people she loves know how much they mean to her. David is such a great addition to the family and I am so happy they have found each other. May they continue to be blessed in their love and I am honored to protect her as one of my best friends.

Groomsman

David and I go back to the ancient years of high school. During my sophomore year at Bayside High School I found a place on the track team. While we weren't close immediately, DFK somehow talked me into running cross country. Putting up with David on a 10+ mile run is something few others have the focus for physically or mentally…😂. In all seriousness, David is a true friend of mine. He's been by my side through some of my greatest moments in life. Having him be there has been a blessing with his knowledge, experiences, and skills.. That's why I'm proud to have had him as a solid support during my darkest moments in life . At any point I have been able to reach out to him. At times he shows up unexpectedly and still provides friendship. Of all my close friends, I'd say he's the most critical, but I have never felt judged. Him being there during bad times has provided a great punching bag, emotionally, verbally, and even physically! One of his best traits though is that no matter when we have butt heads, he is quick to forgive and move forward. DFK has a talent for moving forward. I am honored to be beside him during this joyous moment. I have ran beside him during some of his happiest moments and now the baton has been passed to his new to be wife and I couldn't be happier for him. This time I'll be standing beside him and I'm proud it will be on the greatest day of his life. Cheers to David and Alex, and I hope nothing but comfort and bliss surround yalls future together.

Hillary Wrosch

Bridesmaid

Alex and I met when we were in high school. She had come back to Grosse Pointe, MI for a visit after moving to Maui. We were introduced through a mutual friend and clicked immediately. We had such a fun week getting to know each other, but little did we know how much fun was yet to be had. Fast forward years ... she got into Wayne State Medical School and was moving back to Michigan. It took about a week for us to realize we should live together and from then on, we were inseparable. We're the friends who don't call each other by our names, we just say "Pal." Anytime we have a good idea, have a good dance move, say something funny (the list goes on), we fist bump and follow it up with "My Pal!" That's just standard Pal stuff. In other words, we're weirdos and I wouldn't have it any other way. We've gone through so many chapters of life together and I'm so excited to be by her side as she begins her next one with David. Cheers Pal!

Groomsman

I have known David since 2012, but we really became close when we began coaching together at Virginia Wesleyan in 2019. David and I enjoy spending time together talking about school, coaching, gardening, and home improvement projects (and long walks on the beach). We also enjoy going on 20 mile runs together for fun. You really get to know someone on a deep level when you spend hours sharing in the pain and suffering that is running.

Honey Stewart

Bridesmaid

I'm especially protective of my brother David -- so whoever his future wife was going to be, I would always hold to high standards. After meeting Alex and seeing how supportive, kind, and loving she is, there was no doubt in my mind that she was **his one**. (I was actually the one telling him he BETTER hurry up and marry her!) Watching this beautiful woman embrace my brother and all of our crazy family is simply amazing. I could not be more excited to see what the future brings for these spontaneous Kidds. Welcome to the family Sister!

Richmond Letterio

Groomsman

David and I met my freshman year at Virginia Wesleyan as teammates on the track team. We then lived together my sophomore year in a townhouse on campus, having rooms right next to each other. I was his resident article and paper editor for the school paper and his classes. We spent more nights than I can remember (for better or worse) during school and after graduation together out on Shore Drive or the Oceanfront. David and I have travelled together to Seattle and Chicago, although he is no longer allowed to be in charge of purchasing the tickets (fun story). I also make sure to bring headphones, otherwise he will sing the same song for hours on a flight. He even came out to Lynchburg to hang out with me while I was in graduate school and made friends with all my new friends out there. We have always had a good time together and I know David always has my back. He is a loyal friend and I am glad that we have had the opportunities to share so many memories from college and beyond. David has been a staple in my life since the day I met him and I have no doubt it will continue on into his married life with Alex!

Rachel McHugh

Bridesmaid

I am Rachel McHugh and met Alex through David. I have known David for many years and instantly clicked with Alex when he brought her to a Halloween party with him. I love her fun and outgoing personality! She has a heart of gold and I could not be happier for the two of them together!

Patrick McHugh

Groomsman

I met David back in 2017 at North End Run Club. We quickly became good friends through our love of running and dancing. We spent our winters running together and our summer days out on the boat "sipping" a Coors Light. We have created some great memories together, but our greatest are yet to come. I look forward to, and am honored to be standing by his side as we celebrate this marriage of these two fun, energetic and genuine human beings.

Gwen Stewart

Flower Girl

Uncle David and Auntie Al Al are the best. I've been a fly on the wall to say the least watching their love grow. I can attest that there is strong passion between these two. Trust me, I know nonverbal communication, and seeing how these two look at each other is just heartwarming. I'm honored to be y'alls flower girl. Won't let you Kidds down! (Ya get it... "Kidds")

Terrell Shelton

Groomsman

There's not much to say about David that you don't already know. My personal relationship with him is all about accountability and genuinely feeling like he is my family. I mean cmon…..this guy replaced me on my own mother's phone bill. After the acronym "DFK" I typically think of David as "Mr. Accountable" maybe those quotes are synonymous but at the end of the day…that's him. He's always been ready to help, he's always been available to myself and my family in whatever capacity, he's just ready to to ride and I love him for that. Sending all the prayers and hoping for all the best between you and Alex.

Jacob Wilson

Ring Bearer

I take great honor in being the Ring Bearer for these two amazing people. David, you have always been there for me. Now let me take the honor of being there for you as the Ring Bearer. David and Alex, you are more than just family, you are a part of something much greater, a pack! Can't wait for what the future holds for these two cuties. Love you!
