We met working in the same office, which happened to be the apartment complex that we lived at. One of us got hired first the other was upset and had to go into office to see who "stole" their job. When the upset one saw who got hired first it was love at first sight for them. We will let you guess who is who, aka who is Jim and who is Pam in our Office love story.

We are sure many want to know why we are both changing our last name. We talked a lot about this and the original purpose behind only women changing their last name. We felt for us it made more sense for us both to change our last name. We completely value why others' choose to either keep their own last name or take their spouses. We just knew for us marriage is a union and this last name change was just another way to honor that union. Specifically, Matthews was picked because we had to pick an M last name and this was what we felt best suited us after months of looking. Why M? Alex was adamant about keeping his lovely initial that his parents gave him, JAM (his first name is James for those of you who do not know)
