A Testament of God's Grace

God is good all the time!

Before anything else, our story is one of God’s faithfulness. A divine orchestration written by the One who knows us best. Both of us were walking our individual paths with the Lord, desiring to grow in Him, to serve His people, and to live lives that reflected His glory. We prayed for a godly spouse who would not only love us, but love Christ first, and God, in His perfect timing, answered. We first crossed paths on March 15, 2023, at Pastor Shannon's Bible study. It wasn’t a grand moment, no sparks or fanfare, just two people seeking truth in God’s Word. But as we continued to attend, a friendship grew, steady and grounded in mutual faith. What stood out wasn’t personality first, it was character. It was the joy of seeing someone serve faithfully, love deeply, and live out what they believed. He saw me caring for the kids in Sunday School with 5&2 and being a part of the worship team. I saw him showing up with consistency both at Bible study and at Church, and a quiet strength rooted in Christ. It wasn’t until October 2, 2024, that friendship bloomed into something more. When he asked me to be his girlfriend, I already knew the answer would be yes. By then, I had seen enough, his walk with God, his heart. We were two people walking toward Christ and discovering we could walk together. Our relationship deepened in the most beautiful ways: in prayer, in worship, in community. God was always at the center. And yet, it wasn’t just spiritual. We laughed, a lot. We bonded over family values, our mutual love for cheeseburgers, and a shared sense of humor that thrives on memes and gifs (jifs, cue Matt's side eye). We’ve spent time at the gym, on the beach, or just talking, sometimes about everything, sometimes about nothing at all. But always, there's peace. There's joy. Then came July 4th, one of my favorite holidays! Surrounded by both our families and Snoopy himself, he got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. It was a perfect evening, filled with the people we love most, followed by fireworks at Knott’s Berry Farm. An unforgettable night! He knew what would light up my heart, and he went above and beyond. Now, as we look forward to saying “I do” on October 11, 2025, we stand in awe of what the Lord has done. Our relationship is not just a love story, it’s a living testimony of God’s mercy and grace. We know that marriage is not the end of the story, but the beginning of a new chapter. One where God will continue to shape us, use us, and grow us for His purpose. We cherish one another as gifts entrusted to each other by God. We are thankful, humbled, and excited. This is not just a union of two hearts, but of two lives, anchored in Christ, fueled by love, and led by faith.
