Our Story

Matthew noticed Tasha around their college campus first, fall of 2020. Their paths finally collided when they connected on social media July 24 2021, where Matthew began pursuing a friendship with Tasha. On the 3rd of October 2021 Matthew and Tasha confessed their growing feelings for each other. They agreed to take more time to grow the friendship that had gotten stronger and finally on February 26th, 2022, they officially began their relationship, with the goal of marriage. Over the summer of 2022 Matthew and Tasha continued through long distance, meeting each other's families. Although the distance was hard and sometimes felt impossible, Matthew and Tasha made it through stronger than ever. Little did Tasha know, Matthew had asked her father a very important question that summer in 2022... He popped the question on New Years Day at 12:14am, both crying tears of joy. They set the date for March 24th, a day when close family and friends will be able to join them.

Were you expecting the proposal?

Answer

Tasha: "Oh no, I genuinely wasn't! Previously I had told Matthew that Holiday proposals were corny and i disliked them, so I was not expecting it on New Years Eve/Day! It was truly magical, as soon as it turned 2023 Matthew lead me outside and around my family's porch to a beautiful candle lit setup, where he asked me if we could walk into this year as fiancés!"

Who said "I love you first"?

Answer

Tasha: *raises hand* "I did, it was kinda an accident. I had built all these walls around my heart, but Matthew had wiggled hi way in and I didn't want to admit it to myself. So, when that 'I love you' slipped out, it shocked both of us in its genuineness." Matthew: "I remember immediately pulling you into my arms, warmth filling me as I whispered 'I love you' back. It was really special."
