Buena Vista, Colorado is a beautiful small town in the valley of the mountains. Stunning views await with a golden sea of Aspen trees, strong rushing waters of the Arkansas River, and Rocky Mountains surrounding you on all sides. Many of the mountains are over 14,000 feet (called "The 14'ers by locals), so it is vital to stay hydrated to avoid altitude sickness.
If you are flying in, keep the drive times in mind when booking flights. Buena Vista may not look far away from airports on a map, but don't be fooled. You will be zig-zagging (safely) on mountain roads, so be prepared for the scenery!
Denver Airport -> Buena Vista (3 hours)
Colorado Springs Airport -> Buena Vista (2 hours)
We recommend arriving Thursday to adjust to the altitude if possible. We will be having a welcome party Thursday night. We hope you can make it!
And drink LOTS of water!
