Our Story

We’ve known each other for as long as we can remember—our families both part of the City of David congregation, where so much of our story began.

We grew up side by side - at camp, in dance, in band, and in the same community we're both so grateful for.

We were always friends, never especially close, yet somehow we each held a quiet, special place for one another in our hearts.

As the years passed, our paths began to cross more often. We ended up at the same high school—and Matthew somehow kept “randomly” running into Sarah on her walks (a coincidence… maybe).

Then came university—we were both accepted to the University of Toronto, where everything began to change. We also began working with one another.

We started talking more, growing closer through our shared love for the Lord, our families, our community, and our passions for business, music, architecture, and design.

Before long, friendship turned into something more—and we began dating.

We’ve always cherished simply spending time together—talking for hours, whether on long walks, day trips across Ontario, or skating side by side.

In January 2025, our families took a special trip to New York City—a place that means so much to us.

On January 3rd, Matthew completely surprised Sarah with a proposal she’ll never forget at the Rockefeller Center.

Through it all, we’ve seen God’s faithfulness so clearly—how He’s guided our lives and brought our story together in ways we never could have planned.

It’s a full-circle moment—Matthew has graduated from UofT this year, and Sarah will graduate next year, closing a chapter where we grew, learned, and fell in love.
