It all started on Hinge. Yes that's right, Hinge. Matthew and I had been messaging back and forth for a little while, getting to know each other. There was an easy flow to our conversations, and before long, we both agreed to meet in person. We decided on a date at First Watch. I remember feeling a mix of excitement and nerves as I walked in, I sat down and waited for him, wondering if he was going to show or if I was going to be eating by myself that morning, But as soon as I saw Matthew, all of that melted away. He had this calm confidence about him, and it was clear he was just as easy-going in person as he had been online. After breakfast, we decided to take a stroll around the area, enjoying the fresh air and small lake across the street and continuing our conversation. For an entire hour, we walked and talked about everything; family values, our upbringing, everything that mattered most to us. It was crazy how much we had in common. We both shared similar views on family, relationships, and life in general, and the more we talked, the more we realized how aligned we were. It wasn’t just the deep conversations that made the date memorable. It was the way we clicked. Our humor was in sync, He made a joke i'll never forget and won't repeat on here, and I was amused at his quick wit. I felt so at ease with him, and we were both completely present in the moment. By the end of the date, Matthew, being the true gentleman he is, asked me if he could kiss me. I was taken aback in the best way... He was respectful, thoughtful, and kind. Yes... I said yes. It felt like a nice end to our first date. Since then; we have traveled to many states, rode many roads on our motocrycles, worked more the past year than I have in the last 5 years. (Kidding- For those who know... Know). Building a house that will be ours and expecting our little one in August. So much has happened in so little time, But the ole fashioned saying "When you know, You know" couldn't be more perfect. Looking back, it’s funny how something as simple as a couple of messages on Hinge led to such an incredible connection. I’m so glad we made that leap and took the chance on meeting in person, because here we are, years later, still laughing, still talking, still working (Again with the jokes) and still so happy we met.
