Officiant
Robert is one of the most amazing people we know. He is good at literally anything you could think of that requires skill. He is a friend to both Ruthie and Matthew, as he has spent summers with each of them as a Residential Assistant at Governors Honors Program. We are so thankful that Robert will be the one to Marry us, as he has seen us grow together throughout our relationship.
Best Man
I can't think of anyone who truly knows me better than my own Brother. Christopher and I have always been close, sharing a love for all things Atlanta Sports amongst other interests. He has known Ruthie and me from the very beginning, and I am honored to have him by my side on the day I say "I do".
Groomsman
Max and I go back to High school, where we both played soccer together. To our surprise, we also lived in the same neighborhood, and our friendship took off from there. Upon our graduation from Clarke Central, Max and I boarded a plane and headed to Europe for a month. Max is truly more than a friend to me and he knows that. We are brothers bonded for life.
Groomsman
Matt and I share more than just the same name. Matt is a friend, former coworker, and best group project partner a guy could ask for. Matt and I both completed our Masters in Sport Management and Policy at the University of Georgia together. While obtaining our Masters, we also worked for the UGA Promotions department, where we were known as "the Matts". We are both die-hard Manchester City Fans and both share a love for craft beer.
Maid of Honor
Mary Margaret and Ruthie have known each other since April 10th, 1998, the day Mary Margaret (hereby known as MM because frankly, her name is too long to write) was born. Even though Ruthie didn’t know it at the time, they’ve been sisters ever since. Like many sisters, sometimes they like each other and sometimes they cannot stand to breathe the same air, but they’ll always be the other’s biggest cheerleader. For this reason, Ruthie chose MM for the most prestigious position of Maid of Honor. Of this choice, MM said, “It’d better be me.” The most prestigious Maid of Honor would also like to let the people know that come August 2020, she will be on the job hunt. Feel free to send any journalistic opportunities along to marymargaret1998@gmail.com.
Bridesmaid
Ana and Ruthie are longtime friends. They’ve known each other since the 3rd grade, when their friendship was founded on Harry Potter and bathroom humor. Though they didn’t see each other for many years when Ruthie moved away from Chattanooga, when they reconnected at Camp Mikell as high schoolers, they were able to pick up where they left off. Their friendship has grown from Harry Potter and bathroom humor to shared interests in feminism, taking down anti-vaxxers, and still a little bathroom humor. When Ruthie asked Ana to be a bridesmaid, all she received from Ana for the next month were ALL CAPS text messages. Ruthie is equally as excited as Ana for her to be part of the big day.
Bridesmaid
Anna and Ruthie clicked immediately in 2014 when Ruthie was in Anna’s cabin at camp. Anna was a wealth of advice and realness for Ruthie as she entered college. Their friendship grew during their years together at UGA. Post-college, they love to spend their time together working out, getting their nails done, or feeding their caffeine (& gossip) addictions at Starbucks. Anna was one of the first people in Ruthie’s life to meet Matt, and even though she thought his online presence could have been better, she supported their relationship from the start. Anna is a ride-or-die woman, and if you cross Ruthie on her big day, Anna will have you removed. She truly is one of the most loyal friends. Ruthie can't wait to have Anna by her side at the wedding!
