Bright eyed and bushy tailed, Matt and Reagan met at the first orientation night of dental school. They attempted a date in November when Matt valiantly asked Reagan to a Mavericks basketball game. Unbeknownst to him, the tickets that he won in a raffle at a school event came with strings attached: seats next to two dental school alums. Reagan and Matt learned much on this outing, but not about each other. Evidently, they did try again, and their first “double date” is now a memory they can laugh about.

Matt and Reagan were enjoying an ideal New Years Day trekking through a state park in Tennessee. They sat down for a quick break, but Matt had more than snacks in his backpack. He pulled out a handmade scrapbook that he’d made of their past two years together. Matt is not a scrapbooker, but its sticky pages and hand-cut photos meant more than any professionally made book could have. The last page was a hand-drawn picture of the exact spot where they were, down to the clothes he was wearing. He proposed, and Reagan said yes, of course! Over-the-top exhilarated and unable to focus long enough to read a map, they then proceeded to wander lost in the woods for two hours. But what a wonderful two hours they were!
