When should we fly in?

Matt and Maddie are planning to arrive in Ireland on the Monday before the wedding. We’d love for everyone attending to be in Ireland by June 24th.

Should I rent a car in Ireland?

Answer

Renting a car can be a great option — especially if you plan to explore the countryside before or after the wedding. It gives you the freedom to visit scenic spots at your own pace. Make sure to book an automatic if you are uncomfortable driving stick (in the opposite side of the car driving on the opposite side of the road). But it’s not the only way to get around! If you're just coming for the wedding or prefer not to drive, there are several other options: Uber, Lyft and Taxi options FreeNow (recommended by the castle)

Are Irish roads really that narrow?

Answer

Some country roads (especially in rural areas) are quite narrow and winding, with high hedges and stone walls. Drive cautiously, watch for sharp turns, and be prepared to pull over to let oncoming traffic pass. Be prepared for roundabouts, lots and lots of them

Do I need a visa to travel to Ireland?

If you’re a U.S. citizen travelling to Ireland, you’ll require a valid passport, which remains valid until after completion of your scheduled trip. However, you won’t require a visa for either tourist or business stays provided their duration is less than three months.

Yes, you’ll need a power adapter to use your U.S. electronics in Ireland. Ireland uses Type G outlets (three rectangular prongs, same as the UK)
