We met just like everyone else these days - by swiping RIGHT! Thanks Bumble! After only a few days of talking, we met for a drink at Mama's on the Half Shell in Baltimore. I was late as usual and when I walked in and saw Matt sitting at the bar, flannel shirt tucked in to his jeans, cowboy boots on his feet and a water on the bar, I thought to myself "Water? Should I turn around now?" Much to my relief, Matt was just being polite and waited for me before ordering a beer. The conversation was easy and there was a lot of laughter. It was clear to me there was something special. And Matt must have thought so too because he asked me on a second date at the end of the night!

Matt planned a mid-week date night. I got out of work late so we missed the pre-dinner drinks Matt had organized (at none other than Mama's on the Half Shell). While we were getting ready, I said "I really need a manicure, my nails are chipped". To which Matt replied, "All of them?". I thought that a strange thing to say but tried to not think too much into it. We had dinner at Verde in Baltimore, where we had our first meal and wouldn't you know, we sat at the same table for dinner as that first night. We shared delicious pizza, wine and lots of laughs. As we left dinner, Matt detoured us across the street to where we had our first kiss and that's where he got down on one knee. I, of course, said "YES"! We celebrated at home with a bottle of wine Matt had been saving for a special occasion, just the two of us and Bear, of course, who was super happy to have me as his official dog mom.
