This is a love story for the ages. It goes a little something like this: Boy and girl meet at work. They bond over the triumphs and tribulations of their patients while making sure they are comfortable and their bums are clean (the patients’, that is— the boy and girl in question ensured their own bums were tidy each morning upon departure from their homes). While the pair were very much caught up in their own lessons about life and love, a friendship formed. Over the next year or two, the pair saw each other less and less, as the boy had relocated and started a new job. The boy and girl each continued to live their separate lives, wanting for more but generally content with their lot. During the winter of 2016, one which brought terrible heartbreak, the two reconnected. In the wise words of J.K. Rowling, “Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if only one remembers to turn on the light.” The two struck a match and started down a path together. Bound by a passion for music, grammar, and immaturity, their love blossomed over the next several years as they taught each other about their hopes, dreams, and who would be the one replacing the toilet paper rolls. Finally, the day came when the boy could no longer contain his love and he knew he must spend the rest of his life wed to this beautiful, smart, witty, charming (I digress) creature. Set to the tune of ‘Kiss the Girl’ from The Little Mermaid, the boy got down on one knee and asked the girl to spend forever with him. The girl hesitated, knowing what a selfish act it would be to claim such a pure and kind soul as her own for eternity. However, greed won (as it is wont to do) and the two joyfully invite you to celebrate the unlikely occasion that two imperfect people found something that is, in its own way, absurdly perfect.
