Once upon a time, there was a local watering hole named Whitlows, where $2 beers were loved, and singles came to mingle on Thursday evenings. One summer July night, Matt came with his roommates and after a little while, he drummed up the courage to tap a young blonde on the shoulder. The two came to realize they both had a love of soccer, were at one time home- schooled, and grew up on Veggie Tales always wondering "Oh where is my hairbrush." When the night ended, Matt got Katrina's number and promised to text her at work the next day at 11. Although the text technically came at 11:03, Katrina still bribed her charge nurse $20 to leave early because she just "had to go see this guy!."

A little over 4 1/2 years after meeting, Matt and Katrina decided to go to Barrel Oak winery one Saturday with Katrina's new puppy, Kirby, and a few of their closest friends. After everyone shared some wine and laughs, Matt asked if Katrina wanted to take Kirby for a walk with him around the property. Katrina, being her stubborn self, did not want to walk the dog and wanted to play UNO. It took some cupcakes and convincing before she agreed and they walked around the trees to an open field overlooking the vineyards. Katrina chased after Kirby around the hill and turned around to find Matt down on one knee with a beautiful ring open in his hand. Katrina was so surprised she couldn't hold back an immediate YES as all their friends popped out from the trees!
