We both grew up in the town of Oakville, living our entire childhoods just minutes apart and never realizing how many times our paths may have crossed along the way. Fate had its plans, and a new high school was built in our area where we both ended up, passing each other in the halls but never actually meeting. In 2014, Katrina moved to Texas and life carried on in two different directions. It wasn’t until a visit back to Canada in 2018 that everything changed and our connection finally sparked. What started as casual conversations quickly grew into something neither of us expected. Through years of the distance and travel restrictions due to a pandemic, we built a close friendship texting every day and FaceTiming whenever we could. In 2022 as the world slowly opened back up, we finally had our first official date. From that moment on, we both knew this was something rare, the kind of connection you wait a lifetime for. We became inseparable, booking countless flights back and forth between two countries to make it work, proving that long distance relationships do work when it’s the right person. Fast forward to the summer of 2025 when Matt proposed in the most perfect setting, the breathtaking island of Kauai, Hawaii, and the next chapter of our story officially began. After all these years, cities, and miles apart, we’re finally choosing forever and we can’t wait to celebrate our love surrounded by everyone who has supported us along the way.
