We met at work and started out as coworkers just doing our jobs and getting to know each other along the way. Somewhere between daily conversations and shared laughs, we became close friends. Over time, that friendship turned into something more without us even realizing it at first. Eight years later, we’re still laughing, still supporting each other, and still choosing one another every day. What started at work turned into the best thing that’s ever happened to us.
One of our biggest milestones came last year when we purchased our first home together at 26. It was a huge step for us and made everything feel a little more real. Creating a space that’s truly ours has been one of our favorite chapters so far.
After buying our first home together, Matt finally decided it was time for the big ask, he’d been holding onto the ring for eight months! He told me he had found a really nice restaurant he wanted to try and said it would be a special date night. On the day of, I asked him what the dress code was, and he said, “If someone were to take a photo of you, would you like your outfit?” That’s when I started to get a clue. Before dinner, he proposed by the Port Jefferson docks, and the rest is history.
