Although we went to high school together for two years, we never officially met until a bonfire one summer night. Even then, we only exchanged a few words to each other. Before I could lay my head on my pillow that night, I received a text from a random number. On the other side of the phone was Matthew, who was impatiently waiting for a reply. We instantly connected, and a few months later in November we "officially" started dating. To this day, we still enjoy sitting around a fire talking, singing, and dancing to music. Now, after nearly 7 years together, we can't wait to tie the knot and start our happily ever after!

Our proposal came as a complete surprise on a rainy Saturday in January! I had planned Matthew a surprise birthday party that weekend, so both sides of the family planned on coming to dinner that evening. Before getting ready for dinner, he asked me to walk with him and our dog Baxter that recently passed away, to the dog park. It was then that he popped the question, in the rain, making sure that our sweet pup was present since he was such a big part of our lives. It was the perfect proposal!
