We met in San Diego, California, on a night out with friends. We made immediate eye contact and naturally gravitated toward each other as the night went on. From that moment, we became inseparable until the evening came to an end, and Jen and Matt had to go their separate ways. Before parting, we exchanged Instagram accounts. A month later, in December 2023, after Jen finished her schooling, Matt came back to San Diego from Palmdale, and the two went on their first date. That day, Jen and Matt quickly grew fond of each other. They had lunch at Del Lusso, spent time at the beach, and ended the night with dinner at Shogun, a hibachi restaurant. Before the night ended, Matt and Jen connected deeply through the card game We’re Not Really Strangers. It was in that moment they both realized the emotional connection they shared — one that remained strong even across miles apart. The next morning, before returning home to Palmdale, Matt asked to see Jen again. He picked her up, and together they went to what would become their favorite diner, Home Sweet Home. They talked nonstop throughout breakfast, completely lost in conversation, until the manager kindly asked them to leave because the restaurant had closed. Looking around, they realized how quickly time had passed — hours felt like minutes. After Matt dropped Jen back home, he called his two best friends, Abby and Gideon Yapp, and told them, “I’m going to marry this girl one day.” From that moment on, the rest was history — and a testament to God’s hand in Jen and Matt’s relationship. Despite the 185 miles between them, Jen and Matt never stopped committing themselves to one another. Their love is evident to everyone around them — from friends and family to strangers who stop them on the street to say how in love they look. Jen and Matt are excited to build a life together and continue nurturing their loving relationship. Marriage will be the next chapter of their story, and they pray for Jesus’ love and presence to guide them in their union. At such a young age, they feel blessed to have found partners who show the effort, dedication, hard work, and time that love requires. Jen and Matt cannot wait to celebrate this joy and love on November 15, 2025, surrounded by their family and friends.
