On August 3rd, 2020, Matthew came across Ingrid’s profile on Tinder and decided he didn’t want to leave anything to chance so he gave her a Super Like. Not long after, Ingrid responded with the perfect mix of confidence and charm: “Local and has sweet toys… what more could a woman like me want?” From that playful first exchange, something special began. They met in person on August 7th, 2020, for their first date at GT's On The Beach. What was meant to be a casual evening quickly turned into hours of effortless conversation. They talked and laughed all the way until 2 a.m., completely losing track of time. From the very first date, it felt easy natural like they had known each other far longer than just a few hours. The day after their first date, Ingrid met Matthew’s closest friends the very next day at his best friend Aaron’s grandparents’ house for a backyard BBQ and fire. Instead of feeling nervous, she fit right in. A few days following, under the glow of the firelight and after a weekend that felt nothing short of magical, Matthew asked Ingrid to be his girlfriend. She didn’t hesitate to say yes. That’s how they met and from there, their story only grew sweeter. Just eleven months after that first date, they purchased their first home together, building a life filled with laughter, love, and shared dreams. There were endless boat rides, summer truck rides with the windows down, and countless trips back to Port Stanley the place where it all began. On September 15th, 2024, during one of their beloved boat rides, Matthew asked Ingrid to spend forever with him. Surrounded by the water they loved and with some of their closest friends there to witness the moment, he got down on one knee and proposed. Ingrid, of course, said yes. Today, they are happily living in their second home, continuing to build a life rooted in friendship, adventure, and unwavering love.
