FAQs

The Wedding Website of Heather Diehl and Matthew Rice
Question

Can I bring a guest?

Answer

We’re hoping for a small, intimate wedding. If you’re allotted a plus one, we will formally invite your entire wedding party on your invite.

Question

When and where do I RSVP?

Answer

There will be a QR code to RSVP on your formal invitation. Please RSVP as soon as possible, or by August 1, 2027 at the latest.

Question

What if I cannot make it?

Answer

We’re sad to hear you will not be able to join us on our special day, but totally understand. Please use the QR code on your formal invitation to decline, or reach out to either Heather or Matt by August 1, 2027.

Question

If you can attend the wedding but not the welcome dinner…

Answer

We’re so glad you’re able to celebrate with us on our wedding day! The welcome dinner is open to all wedding guests, but you do not have to join if you are unable to. Come when you can.

Question

Can I bring my kids?

Answer

We have taken care to invite our closest friends and family. With that said, anyone invited, including children, will be included on your formal invitation.

Question

Do you have a registry?

Answer

Yes, we do! Of course, we understand traveling and attending weddings can be expensive and your presence is a gift on its own. If you would life to contribute, please visit the registry tab on our website, or feel free to bring anything small to the wedding. We have to travel home and will be unable to bring back large items.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Semi-formal. The gals will wear long dresses and the guys will be in dress clothes ( tie or sport coat optional). To play up the fall colors, we ask that you wear jewel tones, fall floral prints, or black if those colors are not an option. We will be outside in the grass during the ceremony, but inside or on the patio during the reception. It might be chilly during the ceremony, so bring a shawl or sport coat. For outfit inspiration, check out our mood board section on this site.

Question

How will I get to the hotel from the airport?

Answer

The inn is about a 40 minute straight shot from the Newark airport. You will either need a rental car or vehicle service, such as lift or Uber. We will be in the area the week prior for anyone who is unable to use these services, but this should be planned prior. There’s lots of family and groups traveling in and car pooling might be a great, low-cost option. Parking is free at the Inn.

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

Yes, the wedding reception will have an open bar, including cocktail hour, passed apps, and a served meal.

Question

What is the address for the ceremony and reception?

Answer

Address: 225 Morristown Rd., Basking Ridge, NJ 07920 Both will be on the same grounds, making it an easy wedding to simply enjoy. The wedding is at the Olde Mill Inn Grain House, the other building across from the inn parking lot. On wedding day, we will have guests arrive and make their way outside towards the gazebo to the ceremony.

Question

Who are the parents?

Answer

Matt’s parents: Tom Rice and Jeanne Rice Heather’s parents: Rolf Diehl and Stephanie Irvin

Question

What food will be available?

Answer

We will have a mixture of meats, cheeses, veggies, and passed apps during the cocktail hour. Dinner will be served with a main choice of meat or seafood. Based on our invites, we won’t have any vegetarian main dishes, but there’s plenty of sides, salads, and a hot chef attended station to feed all food preferences.
