They met on a little app called “Coffee meets Bagel”… & if you ever asked Matt “who was which?” he would say he was the coffee because he’s the “brown one,” which makes Edith the bagel. The first time Edith scrolled through his profile she thought he was cute, had a great smile, & appeared adventurous. There was only one question. Under ethnicity, he had selected “other” & she wondered what that meant, so she asked him. Matt quick-wittedly responded “I put other because awesome wasn’t an option!” Edith thought to herself “Oh my god! This guy is either hilarious or incredibly full of himself!” She came to realize he was both and began to adore him for it. Matt planned the first date at a trendy brunch spot, followed by a stroll through the nearby Japanese Gardens as he tried mightily to impress the hotty that agreed to go out with him! The date went mostly smooth. The conversation flowed with ease. Smiles lit up their faces as they spent the entire day together. But like all other great stories, there’s always a twist! Edith, nervous about their first date & worried about being on time, accidentally locked herself out of her car while rushing to gas up prior to their date. Matt insists this never happened, that she fabricated an elaborate fib to excuse her tardiness. However, her family can vouch for her since they brought her the spare keys. But despite being ½ hour late, she was glad to find him waiting and greeting her with his gorgeous smile. She later learned that when he got home his mom asked: “so...how was your date?” He responded with “She WAS LATE…Strike One!” Matt likes to joke and tell her that she was lucky that she didn’t continue to be late, but the reality is she continued to be slightly late & he continued to greet her with that smile she adored. Many more dates came after that. They fell in love with each other & with one another’s families. On 3/17/18 Matt asked “THEE QUESTION” that has led them to 10/19/19 when they’ll be saying “I DO!”
