FAQs

If you have any questions, feel free to email us at matt.nicholas.ny@gmail.com OR dominiquecorrea@gmail.com. We will also keep in touch via email in the weeks before the wedding, so please provide an email for us to connect!
Question

What should I wear? Is there a dress code?

Answer

The dress code for our wedding is semi-formal attire. Ladies should wear dresses (no need for evening gowns), and the gentlemen should wear a dress shirt and blazer. Feel free to dress up or down. Please keep in mind that the Bridal Party color is Blue. Also, consider bringing a warm jacket, as the ceremony will be outside in an enclosed tent. There will be space heaters, but it may be a bit chilly.

Question

What will the weather be like this time of year?

Answer

Typically, the weather is in the 50s. Of course, we can’t guarantee anything so keep an eye on the weather here in the weeks leading up to the wedding.

Question

Where are the ceremony and the reception taking place?

Answer

The ceremony and reception will be at the same venue – Maiella. Address: 4610 Center Boulevard, Long Island City, NY 11109

Question

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony will be in an outdoor enclosed tented patio. The reception will be in the restaurant.

Question

How long is the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony is 30-minutes long. We kept it short so we can enjoy the real party! 😉 Please make sure you arrive on time because it will start promptly at 12pm noon.

Question

What happens after the ceremony?

Answer

After the ceremony, we will be taking pictures nearby for 30 minutes. Guests can return at 1pm for the lunch reception.

Question

Does your wedding have a theme?

Answer

The theme is Spring time…new beginnings…new life stage!

Question

What should I do if I can’t make it?

Answer

You will be missed! If you can not make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP “no,” so we can plan accordingly.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

We recommend that you arrive no earlier than 15-20 minutes before the start of the ceremony, to make sure everyone is on time and we can get the party started as scheduled!

Question

Where should guests park? Is parking free?

Answer

If you are driving, there is some free street parking, metered street parking, or garage parking close by. It all depends on how much time you have to look for street parking!

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

While we love your little ones, our wedding is going to be an adults-only reception event so that everyone can relax and enjoy the evening. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the kids at home so you can celebrate with us.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Given the venue limitations, we have a strict guest list. Our wedding is strictly RSVP only. We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your invitation.

Question

Do you have a hotel block for guests? Where do you recommend I stay?

Answer

We do not have a hotel block. We are staying at the Boro Hotel and suggest booking via Expedia or Priceline. Boro Hotel: 38-28 7th Street, Long Island City, NY 11101 / 718-433-1375

Question

When is the RSVP deadline? Do I need to mail back my RSVP or can I do it online?

Answer

The RSVP deadline is Tuesday, February 1st. Please email or text Matthew Nicholas (email: bucuomatt@gmail.com / phone-number: 617-504-4760)

Question

Where are you registered?

Answer

We just added our registry! Feel free to check out some of the adventures we are saving for. There will be a card box at the reception too. We live in a tiny NYC apartment and don't have room for any gifts besides our dog Lulu!

Question

Will food and drinks be served at the reception? What kind of food?

Answer

We will have a 3-course Italian lunch meal, with three (3) hours of Open Bar that includes wine, beer, and cocktails. Prior to the meal, we will have charcuterie boards.

Question

Is there an open bar?

Answer

YES! We will have a three (3) hour open bar from 1pm-4pm. The open bar includes beer, wine, top shelf alcohol & two signature cocktails. (top shelf alcohol: Basil Haydens, Knob Creek, Balvenie, Glenfiddich, Hennessy, Makers Mark 46, Woodford Reserve, Macallan 12, Titos, Avion Silver) Our two signature cocktails is The Maiella and Vagabondo.

Question

Will there be any vegan/vegetarian/gluten free/special diet options?

Answer

We want to make sure you enjoy your time and meal on our wedding day, please let us know when you RSVP about your dietary needs.

Question

Where am I seated? How many people will be at my table?

Answer

We will have table cards with assigned table numbers for each guest. There are 5-7 people at each table. Make sure to keep your table card as it’s a plantable party favor. You could take home the tent card and plant it so that it can grow into flowers so that you can remember our special day.

Question

Will transportation be provided between to/from the hotel?

Answer

We are not providing any formal transportation, but our ceremony and reception are taking place in the same space area. If taking the subway, the closest subway stop is Vernon Boulevard on the 7 train. There’s also a ferry that will take you steps from the restaurant. The stop is Long Island City or Hunter Point South. Please stay safe and default to a ride service or carpooling if you plan to drink.

Question

May I take a centerpiece/candle/flowers home as a souvenir?

Answer

You may take table centerpiece flowers with you BUT please leave the candles and vases. We are responsible for rentals.

Question

Can I take and post pictures of the wedding on social media?

Answer

Yes, we encourage guests to post pictures on to their social media channels, our only request is that you tag each photo with our wedding hashtag #mattgotcorreadaway so we can keep track of all of your pictures!

Question

What COVID health and safety measures will you be taking during the event?

Answer

Getting married during a global pandemic means that everyone’s health and safety is a top priority for us. Part of our RSVP process will be asking each person if they are fully vaccinated or will be by the wedding day for the lunch reception During the ceremony, we ask that everyone keeps their masks on UNLESS we have amazing weather, and the tent is lifted so that we have fresh outdoor air circulating. If you forgot your mask, we have those handy dandy masks in our venue – so they are always at arm’s reach – or feel free to bring one from home Note: The restaurant will require proof of vaccination for the lunch reception.

Question

How many guests will be attending?

Answer

We are having a micro-wedding with family and friends closest to us. The lunch reception will be for less than 60 people. (Reminder that everyone must be vaccinated and tested prior to attending)

I still have questions, what is the best way to contact you?
