Mr. and Mrs. Silva

Matthew Silva grew up in Oceanside, California and enjoyed playing basketball (wearing his trademark high socks). Delilah Johnston is from Commerce, California and grew up with many cousins playing sports at the park. After high school, Matt became a young father working to support his three boys that he coached in baseball, football, and basketball. Delilah joined the United States Marine Corps, stationed both at Camp Pendleton and Hawaii where she purchased her first motorcycle. Shortly after returning home, she had her daughter while finishing her college degree, and also raising her two young boys, as well as coaching all of her kids in sports. Matt found himself moving to Downey, CA to raise his three other young boys and continued coaching, just as he did his older boys, and established a local non-profit for youth basketball that competed in weekend tournaments. One random evening nearly nine years ago they crossed paths, and as Matt would say "We gots to rappin' and that's how it happened". They share many things in common, such as their love for sports (especially basketball), classic cars, coaching youth sports, motorcycles, golf, and a love for Kobe Bryant (hence the May 24th date). They enjoy spending time with each other, even if it's a long drive to get ice cream or to the Strand in Oceanside, trying new restaurants, or competing in loving each other. Fast forward to today, Matthew proposed to Delilah Christmas morning 2024. They got married on February 24th, 2025 in San Diego, CA and now plan to share their love and commitment to each other in front of family and friends. They share a beautiful baby boy named Jaykob Ray Silva (yes beautiful since he is constantly mistaken for a girl), which btw in Hebrew Kobe means Jacob. They enjoy spending time with their family and their children camping, vacationing, and friendly games of Sequence or ping pong (nothing is ever friendly in this competitive family). The wedding ceremony will celebrate their commitment to marriage, before God, and plans to spend the rest of their lives together as One, united with all ten of their children.
