Question

What is Kennolyn?

Answer

Kennolyn is a 450-acre summer camp venue nestled in the Santa Cruz mountains. From June to August, the venue welcomes kids for sleepaway camps, while the rest of the year is dedicated to hosting private events. Hopefully we can send our kids someday!

Question

Why did you choose to celebrate in Santa Cruz?

Answer

We knew we wanted to get married locally since we’ve both called it home for the past ten years and figured what could be more symbolic of the Bay area and California than getting married amongst the majestic redwood forests! Santa Cruz has these in abundance and also is a great place to do some of the pastimes that we love doing like biking, surfing, and hiking.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Black tie optional. Consider wearing a tuxedo or dark suit with tie, full-length formal gowns, and comfortable shoes to match. Feel free to add some color to your attire to match the summer vibe! We are getting married in September in California, so it will be warm summer weather (typically temperatures in the 70's during the day and 60's at night). We recommend bringing an extra layer for the late evening.

Question

Is there parking available?

Answer

If you're planning on staying onsite, Kennolyn has parking but it's semi-limited. We don't anticipate it will be an issue, but we recommend carpooling with others if it's not inconvenient. If you've opted to stay offsite, we will provide transportation from the Courtyard Santa Cruz to the venue (see below).

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

While we love how our community is continuing to expand, the weekend will be an adults-only celebration. If you need help finding child care, please let us know and we can provide referrals.

Question

Who should I contact if I have any questions during the weekend?

Answer

Ahead of the wedding, you can email us at cindyandmatt25@gmail.com. In the week leading up to the wedding, please reach out to our on-site coordinator Elyse (phone: 831-479-6700 x 423, email: elyse@kennolyn.com) with any additional questions.

Question

If I'm staying offsite, what time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Please plan to arrive by 4PM. Our wedding ceremony will take place at 4:15. There is NO parking available at the venue for offsite guests. As such, if you are staying offsite, we will have two shuttles departing from the Courtyard Santa Cruz on Saturday afternoon. The first will depart at 3:15PM, and the second will depart at 3:30PM. If time allows it, we recommend aiming for the first shuttle in order to accommodate traffic and delays. Plus, you'll have more time to explore our venue prior to the ceremony! After the celebration, we will have two shuttles departing from the venue at 10PM to bring guests back to the Courtyard Santa Cruz.
