Matthew and Charlotte's story begins where all great love stories start...the internet. After matching and chatting on Hinge during the snowstorm of 2022, the couple met for their first date at Local Diner with snow still on the ground. Matthew originally had plans to enjoy breakfast and go to the nearby farmer's market, but the couple found themselves chatting over sodas until the diner closed. A second date was quickly scheduled for a few days after, in Charlotte's college town of Denton. They enjoyed long conversations over ramen, and Charlotte introduced Matthew to her favorite coffee shop/study spot. Their date was interrupted by Charlotte's roommate, who called and complained her cat, Sugar, was screaming through the door. Matthew joined Charlotte in figuring out what her cat was seeking, which turned into all three of them enjoying Bo Burnham's "Inside". They arranged for a third date over the weekend. Matthew picked Charlotte up from her apartment to go to Joe T. Garcia's, the Water Garden, and Coyote Drive-In Theater in Fort Worth. As they set up pillows and blankets in the back of Matthew's mom's car, Matthew asked Charlotte to be his girlfriend before the showing of Scream (2022) on February 11th. On Valentine's Day of 2024, Matthew planted the idea of going to the Dallas Zoo by adopting Charlotte a lion, knowing her strong love of animals. On March 9th, the couple enjoyed brunch and mimosas before heading to the zoo. They spent hours seeing every exhibit and feeding giraffes before going to Beto & Son for fancy margs and frosé. While the server was making their drinks tableside, Matthew distracted Charlotte by taking her picture. When she turned around, she saw her sapphire ring sitting on top of her drink. Matthew immediately got down on one knee and asked Charlotte to spend forever together. After exciting engagement photos, the couple went to Matthew's parent's house, where they were greeted by all of their friends and family to celebrate their future and partnership. Since the start of their relationship, Matthew and Charlotte have enjoyed all that life has to offer, like concerts, musicals, skydiving, and more. Together, the couple has graduated, gotten their first jobs, and built a loving home with two adorable cats.
