Where is the wedding taking place?

Answer

The ceremony will take place at Stella Maris Church in Sullivan's Island. Our grandparents who are no longer with us grew up on the island and that was the church they raised their 9 children, so we are very excited to pay homage to them through this service and into our marriage. It was also built from the bricks of Ft. Moultrie, in which Matthew takes in as a blessing and as a true testament to his time in our United States military serving as a captain in the Army. The reception and cocktail hour will be held at Boone Hall Plantation, specifically the Cotton Dock located at 1235 Long Point Road, Mount Pleasant, SC 29464.

What's the Schedule?

Answer

Our ceremony will be held at Stella Maris Catholic Church at 2:00 PM. We kindly ask that you arrive at least 15 minutes early to ensure you have time to find a seat. At 5pm, please join us for cocktail hour at Boone Hall Plantation & Gardens. Feel free to explore the beautiful grounds and the iconic “Notebook” house, filled with Lowcountry history and breathtaking views, while we take photos and transition with our wedding party. Cocktail hour will feature passed hors d'oeuvres, and an open bar with signature cocktails for you to enjoy as you mingle and take in the scenery. Dinner and the reception will begin at 6 PM. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!

What Type of Catholic Service Will It Be?

Answer

This will be not a mass. Father O' Steen who we have had the pleasure to get to know will be our priest. This ceremony will be 30-45 minutes!

Are Children Invited To The Wedding?

Answer

As much as we would love to we can not accommodate all children, and can only allow those in the wedding party. If your child is invited, it will say so on your invitation, we encourage couples to use our wedding as a date-night!

What’s the dress code?

Answer

Black tie optional attire requested. (No jeans, short sleeve polos, or shorts). Gowns and tux’s are encouraged but not required. Since the cocktail hour and reception is indoor/outdoor we recommend block heels or dressy flats. You all know the bride, dress in your most colorful and southern attire! Please avoid the color white in all atire

What will the weather be like?

Answer

Expect warm, humid weather typical of late May in Charleston, with highs in the 70s to mid-80s. Light, breathable fabrics and sun protection are a good idea.

Will there be golf carts around the venue?

Answer

There will be two golf carts that will run continuously from the parking lot to the cotton dock at Boone Hall! If there’s anyone that needs help around the property; they will begin at 4pm
