One Shovel and a pile of dirt later..... Okay okay… Back story lol.. We met three years ago at Lifepointe Church. Cassie was already serving on their praise and worship team when Matt joined as their guitar player. Both knew of each other but had no idea what God had in store for the two of them. Fast forward a year, and Lifepointe was hosting a worship night for all of the impact leaders. All it took was one trip to Carmella’s with the team for God’s plan to be put into motion. With the encouragement of several teammates and the person that shall not be named lol, it helped to make our interactions less awkward and had us hang out more. Okay, so you are probably still wondering what the shovel and dirt had to do with this. Well, Lifepointe was GROWING, and they decided to start phase 3 for expanding the church. Matt and Cassie were both asked to be part of the groundbreaking ceremony. The laughter and silliness began for both of them when jokes were made about someone being buried (aka Cassie) and Matt getting her a custom shovel for her birthday that year. LOL Their friendship grew after that, and Matt asked Cassie to go on a coffee date. It’s May 27th, 2024, and they both met at Starbucks in Kinsley. Laughter, tears, and really deep conversations were shared in that one coffee date that changed the rest of their lives. Within that year of dating, a lot transpired: faith, timing, patience, healing, and love all occurred. God was moving, and He was moving BIG time. Both were waiting for so long for someone to call home, and man, was it worth the wait. We both grew in ourselves and our relationship with Christ, and now we are so excited for each other to grow together in that founding truth that nothing.. Nothing can be done without God’s perfect timing. On February 14th, 2026, we will be celebrating our love story and the testimony to what God has done. Though our ceremony will be very small and imitate, we would love for all who are in our lives to pray. Pray for this celebration, pray for our lasting and beautiful journey of marriage together, and praise God for all that he has done and continues to do. We give him all the GLORY! Love, Cass and Matt
