We're getting married!

In 2016, Carly and Matthew graduated high school from different areas of Long Island and started a new chapter in each of their lives: college. They both entered Marist College excited to meet new people and have fun. Both Carly and Matthew were placed in Champagnat Hall and met each other during their first semester of freshman year. Neither Carly nor Matthew were looking for love, but the universe has a funny way of giving you what you need right when you stop looking for it. During Carly and Matthew’s second semester of freshman year in 2017, they began to hang out with each other and each other’s friends. Very soon, they both realized that they loved spending time with one another. Carly and Matthew chose to spend many of their days together and Matthew won Carly’s heart by frequently buying her food (especially after a night out when a bobo egg sandwich from Campus Deli was very necessary). Meanwhile, Matthew was enamored with Carly’s friendliness and her ability to chill with him and the boys effortlessly. Matthew officially asked Carly to be his girlfriend on April 9th, 2017. Once Carly and Matthew returned home from college for the summer, they had their first official date at The Melting Pot. Both Carly and Matthew swear that when they first glanced at each other during all of the excitement of their first semester of freshman year, they knew that there was something special about one another. They both experienced an undeniable knowing that they were supposed to be in each other’s lives in some way. Carly and Matthew dated for 5 years and 4 months before Matthew asked Carly for her hand in marriage on August 2nd, 2022 on the grounds of a romantic farmhouse in Tuscany, Italy. Matthew and Carly are so happy that you, their friends and family, are joining them in celebrating their love. They cannot wait to continue journeying through this life with one another and allowing the universe to continue working in their favor.
