The year was 2024, and the place—Clear Skin Beauty Salon. At the time, I was single and struggling to find the one. My mom, ever the hopeful romantic, even suggested a matchmaking service. We looked into it, but it quickly seemed more like a scam than a love story waiting to happen. Then, on February 16, 2024, I was given a prayer to meet my soulmate. It read: “Open my heart and mind so that I recognize my soulmate. Remove any obstacles that may be in the way of this happy encounter, so that I might find a new sense of wholeness, joy, and peace.” I prayed this prayer every night, and exactly one month later, on March 16, 2024, I met Matthew — my gift from God. On our very first date, Matthew took me to his family’s restaurant, where I happened to meet his cousin, uncle, and aunt. That same evening, his aunt called Matthew’s mother and said, “I just met your future daughter-in-law.” By our second date, I met his mom — who I now call my mother-in-love. And just like that… our story began.
