Maid of Honor
Zoe and I have known each other since kindergarten and have been best buds ever since (although she’s more like a sister). Zoe is creative, funny, caring, and reliable. Over 16 years of friendship we have gone on numerous beach trips, accidentally let a goat escape at a petting zoo, tried on hilarious outfits at thrift shops, and had dance parties in my kitchen. In 2019 we went on an exchange to Quebec together, we saw each other 24/7 for 5 weeks as roommates, classmates, grocery shopping buddies, and ice cream date pals… and for some reason, we aren’t sick of each other yet! I can't imagine my life without Zoe, and I'm so grateful to have her as my Maid of Honour.
Best Man
Isaac and I grew up attached at the hip. Growing up so close in age, we shared many experiences together from summers jumping ramps on bikes as kids to winters hunting and trapping in northern Ontario. The one thing you need to know about Isaac is that he’s good at absolutely everything he tries. And believe me he tries a lot of things… He’s an arborist by trade, a volunteer firefighter, and definitely the guy to talk to if your goal is to catch a deal or turn a quick profit on Kijiji. Although our careers and studies have taken us in different directions in life, it feels like nothing has changed when we reconnect, and I am honoured to have him as my Best Man.
Bridesmaid
Michaela and I met a bit over a year ago now and very quickly became friends and each other's confidant. Although Michaela was not yet married into the Cairns family when we met, she welcomed me into the tight-knit group with open arms and a beaming smile on her face. Over numerous coffee, breakfast, and study dates, we became very close and realized we had a mutual love for llamas. Michaela is a bubbly, warm, supportive, and loving person. I am very excited to be sisters-in-law and share many more memories!
Groomsman
Ethan is my older brother and, with that, comes the responsibility of being a role model for myself and my two younger brothers. He is married with three little children and co-operates a dairy farm in Prince Edward County. He is the person I have looked up to as a small child and all through my teenaged years. He has always been in that “next stage of life”, and never failed to demonstrate what it meant to live as a man of faith and excellence in that next stage. Ethan is the older brother that made me excited to grow up, and I don’t know where I’d be without his guidance.
Junior Bridesmaid
Teaghan is my beautiful, vibrant, energetic, 9-year-old sister. Teaghan and our brother Liam love to go on outdoor adventures together whether it is going on a hike, swimming, biking, or trying to do jumping tricks on their scooters. Teaghan loves all sorts of animals, especially the small and/or fluffy ones, and loves to snuggle our family’s puppies. We are very excited to have Teaghan in our wedding party and she is easily the most excited person for this wedding!
Groomsman
Liam is the youngest of my three brothers and was a constant source of entertainment growing up. Trust me, he’d do just about anything we told him to! But that willingness to do anything developed into a desire to branch out and try many things in his teenage years as well. He loves photography, dressing to impress, and the gym has become his second home over the last couple of years. I admire Liam's outgoing personality and pursuit of excellence and am very proud to have him standing with me.
Man of Honor
Steve and I have been friends for a little over 5 years after meeting as lifeguards and swim instructors. Steve is goofy, the life of every party, and is the BEST storyteller. Over the years we have escaped a truly boring new year's eve party (Zoe was one of our accomplices), gone for dozens of drive and coffee hangouts, and tag-teamed several hilarious situations at the pool. Steve is the kind of friend that no matter how much time you spend apart, whether due to school or a global pandemic, he makes time to check in and it feels like no time has passed. Whether he likes it or not, he is a friend for life.
