One of our favourite neighbourhoods in DC to go for good food, walk by the waterfront, shopping, and to take cute pictures :)
Probably what you picture when you think of DC. Walk along the National Mall to visit the various monuments & memorials (Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument, etc), the Smithsonian Museums, and the famous landmarks (Capitol Building, White House). Open 24 hours a day.
We went here for one of our first dates. Great if you're into contemporary art. Admission: free as long as you take the shuttle bus (Route 301 that starts at the Rockville Metro bus terminal). If driving, you need to reserve a free ticket 2-months in advance (July).
Matthew's favourite Smithsonian museum. Admission: Free *you have to reserve your free passes in advance!
We went here for our first date to see the cherry blossoms. Although it won't be cherry blossom season during that time of the year, it's still a nice place to take a walk.
Can't go wrong with a zoo day! Best way to get there is by taking the Red Line metro to Woodley Park-Zoo/Adams Morgan and walking 10 minutes to the zoo entrance. Parking at the zoo is $30-40. There is also street parking around the area. Admission: Free
Catch a baseball game before the season ends at Nationals Park! We highly recommend taking the metro, the closest station being Navy Yard-Ballpark station on the Green Line.
Another one of our favourite Smithsonian museums! 🐋🐘 Admission: Free
