The Colorado National Monument has a great variety of hikes both in length and difficulty. If you don't want to hike but want to see some of God's amazing handiwork, you can drive through and stop at various overlooks (about an hour to drive straight through).
We went here during the day in April and it was a bit too hot to soak so we recommend you visit in the evening. If you're a flatlander with a spirit of adventure, you can keep on driving past Ouray and head up the "Million Dollar Highway."
We recommend visiting in the evening in May because it can be a bit warm during the day.
You need to book your tickets in advance. We recommend you do this as soon as possible (starting in January) if you plan to visit. You can enter the park at 4:30 PM without the timed entry ticket but this may not leave enough time to hike the to the Delicate Arch. You still may enjoy a drive through the park with spots to complete short hikes. Even if you don't hike, it is a lovely drive and a wonderful way to spend the day. Those of you driving up from Texas can hit the park on your way in.
This is the BEST Thai food you will ever have. We had our second date here. We wish we could get them to cater but then we wouldn't have been able to afford to invite all of you.
