In 2016 Amanda got a job at US Best Repairs working as an accountant focused on spreadsheets, deadlines and balancing books. Matthew also worked at US Best as a Project Manager. They worked in totally different departments but somehow kept running into each other. Quick chats turned into shared breaks, and before long, those breaks became the best part of their day. After about a year, Matthew left the company to chase new opportunities. Life got busy, time passed, and unfortunately, they lost touch. Fast forward to 2018 – US Best was closing its doors, which meant one last round of goodbye parties. One Friday afternoon at Mission Bar in Santa Ana, former coworkers gathered for a final send-off. And then Matthew walked in. Total surprise, they picked up right where they left off-laughing, catching up and talking about old memories. Matthew even jokingly called Amanda “Mi Esposa” that night in front of the whole bar. That night, Matthew finally asked Amanda out on a proper date. (About time, right?) From there, things just clicked. They traveled to new cities, went on all kinds of adventures, and built a relationship that felt easy and fun from the start. From traveling to Mexico, to white water rafting trips, they fell completely in love with each other. On June 21st, 2025, Matthew planned an unforgettable surprise. He took Amanda to see hot air balloons rising behind the South Coast Winery in Temecula. It was a calm, beautiful morning, the kind you soak in. Amanda was completely unaware of what was about to happen. (she even wore her gym clothes!) At 8:00am, Matthew got down on one knee and asked Amanda to marry him. She said yes!
