Matthew and Alexandra grew up in the same small town of Basking Ridge, both attended 6th grade at William Annin Middle School, yet it was not until their junior year of college when they first met. They formed a fast friendship and soon became inseparable. They continued bonding during that first summer before returning to school to finish earning their bachelor’s degrees; Matt at Fordham University and Alex at Hobart & William Smith Colleges. Their friendship moved quickly. Matt was impressed with Alex’s bubbly, kind-hearted personality and Alex was impressed with Matt’s easy-going nature and keen ability to make her laugh. Matt never allows himself to get sidetracked by difficulties while Alex tends to be a natural-born troubleshooter. It became unmistakably clear from the beginning they were meant to be together because they complement each other so well in so many ways. Everyone seemed to notice how quickly and easily things were falling into place. After graduation Matt continued studying for all three series of the Certified Financial Analyst tests while living in Hoboken and Alex moved to New York City to be near her job working for a law firm as a Litigation Paralegal. They now live in Hoboken with their dog, Hudson. Their first photo together, a cell-phone selfie taken during one of their early dates walking around Central Park, turned out to be prophetic. That first photo spot (overlooking the Model Sailboat Pond) turned out to be Matt’s proposal spot. In August 2023 Matt got down on one knee and proposed. Unbeknownst to either of them was a small crowd watching from a distance and an out-of-town couple from Paris quietly videotaped the scene and presented the video to them afterwards. Eight years later Matt and Alex are excited to tie the knot in front of their close family and friends on May 10, 2025. This is just the beginning.
